95 58th IB troopers promoted


CAMP BANCASI, Butuan City – The commanding general of the Army 4th Infantry (Diamond) Division, Major Gen. Jose Maria R. Cuerpo II, recently donned ranks on 95 newly promoted Army officers and personnel of the 58th Infantry (Dimalulupig) Battalion under Lt. Col. Christian C. Uy.

Aside of the command group of the 4th ID, the donning of ranks was also witnessed by the command and staff of the 402nd Infantry (Stingers) Brigade headed by commanding general Brig. Gen. Adonis G. Orio and the families of the newly promoted soldiers.

The ceremony was held at the 58th IB headquarters in Sitio Migbanday, Barangay Poblacion, Claveria, Misamis Oriental.

The newly promoted personnel of the 58th IB  were recognized due to their outstanding dedication and service to the people of the province of Misamis Oriental and nearby areas,  Uy said.

“I am very proud for their very timely promotion as we are already in strategic victory in our fight against the communist insurgency,” stressed the 58th IB commander.

Cuerpo thanked the soldiers for their sacrifices in the  line of duty and reminded everyone to always work together and support each other and continue their tireless efforts in protecting the people and securing peace in their area of responsibility.

He emphasized the culture of respect towards female soldiers and encouraged troops, especially junior soldiers, to voice out their problems.

“Every problem has a solution, it is a matter of reaching out to the right person,” Cuerpo added.

Uy thanked the 4th ID commander for visiting them and recognizing newly promoted personnel.

He challenged the newly promoted personnel to excel in having greater responsibility.

“This ceremony is a testament of your hard work and selfless service to the country,” the 58th IB commander said.

“As you carry on your new ranks, I urge you to continue building your skills and character as more triumphs, trials, and responsibility are heading your way from this point on.”
