Parañaque LGU's veterinary office to hold 'SCent' for city's pets
The local government of Parañaque City has announced that the City Veterinary
Service Office (CVSO), in coordination with Barangay San Isidro, will conduct the SCent (spay, castrate, and tagging) project on the city’s pets on Wednesday, April 18.
Mayor Eric Olivarez said the SCent project is intended to help pet owners of Barangay San Isidro. It will be held at the Fortunata village covered court.
Olivarez said the project was funded by the barangay and can only accommodate three pets per household.
He told pet owners in the city who are not residents of San Isidro that they may avail of the city government’s weekly and by-appointment neutering in the city pound in Barangay La Huerta.
The mayor also said the CVSO has an ongoing coordination with other barangays and is just waiting for their approval, availability of funds, and availability of volunteer veterinarians.
Olivarez said the registration is on-site and on a first come, first served basis.
He said pets must be healthy and have no signs of any illnesses, are six months old and above, at least one kilogram in weight, and are qualified to be spayed or castrated.
For recently whelped or pets who have just given birth at least one month after and those that are pregnant, pet owners need to sign a waiver for spay abort procedure.
For anti-rabies vaccination and deworming, the pets must be one month old or above.
Olivarez said pet owners who would like to avail of tagging or microchipping of their pets, the pets must at least be three months old. Pet owners also need to pay P250 to PetDentity.
