  • "My advocacy, 'Own Less, Do More,' encourages people to live sustainably by reducing their consumption of material possessions. I firmly believe that minimalism is a convenient and achievable lifestyle that can dramatically reduce our carbon footprint and help us live more meaningful lives. Miss Philippines Earth Dipolog 2023 KC Falcasantos has encouraged Earth Warriors to live more sustainably for a better future.

During a meet-and-greet event held at the Palm Grill restaurant in Quezon City, Falcasantos said that the public can live sustainably by reducing their consumption of material goods.

"My advocacy, 'Own Less, Do More,' encourages people to live sustainably by reducing their consumption of material possessions. I firmly believe that minimalism is a convenient and achievable lifestyle that can dramatically reduce our carbon footprint and help us live more meaningful lives. Having fewer means not only reducing stress on ourselves, but also protecting the environment," she said.

Falcasantos, 21, also shared simple advice about safeguarding and protecting the environment.

"Social media platforms are the easiest way to promote ecotourism, they can also be used to inform and educate people. Through social media, we can encourage visitors to choose green tours, contributing to conservation efforts and reducing the environmental effect of travel.

"When it comes to ecotourism in Dipolog City, there are several natural attractions to explore such as; Dipolog Sunset Boulevard, Linabo Peak, Cogon Eco-Park, and more. There are options for hiking, trekking, bird viewing, camping, picnics, and other outdoor activities for guests to enjoy," she added.

Asked why she should be the next Miss Philippines Earth, Falcasantos answered: "I want to continue my advocacy 'Own Less, Do More'. I strongly believe that my advocacy is a simple practice that everyone can apply in their lives. Miss Philippines Earth can guide and support me with the necessary tools that I need in order to promote my advocacy.

"I look forward to sharing my ideas on important events and to working with people who have the same vision as me. I can't wait to meet people from different backgrounds because their personal inputs are so powerful. This opportunity has the potential to facilitate my personal growth and development, which allows me to be a better spokesperson," she said.

Falcasantos is a dentistry student who stands 5'5 tall. Her measurements are 32-25-36.

Her mom also inspired her to join the environment-driven beauty pageant.

"My most memorable moment, so far, is joining Miss Philippines-Earth Zamboanga. I remember the day my handler reached out to me, I was hesitant at first because of the fear of failure, but my mother encouraged me to join. My mom knows me more than I know myself, she knew that I was ready for it and that no opportunity that big should be ignored.

"I remember when my mom said that she really wanted to see me on stage, I wanted to make her wish come true, so I decided to join the pageant. Little did I know that every time I stepped on the stage, I’d feel relaxed and at home. My mom was right.

"During the competition, I felt I was finally living my childhood dream. After winning Miss Philippines Air Zamboanga 2022, I was surprised by the many opportunities that came my way, I was overwhelmed with all the blessings. Above all, I thank God for the life-changing experience," Falcosantos added.

The grand coronation of Miss Earth Philippines 2023 will be held at the Toledo Sports Center in Toledo, Cebu on April 29.  The winner will represent the Philippines at the Miss Earth 2023 Competition in Vietnam later this year.
