BUTUAN CITY – A magnitude-4.2 earthquake rocked Balut Island in the municipality of Sarangani in Davao Occidental on Monday morning, April 17.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the earthquake occurred at 9:32 a.m. and its epicenter was 301 kilometers southeast of Balut Island with a depth of 23 kilometers.
No aftershocks or damage from the earthquake are expected, the Phivolcs said.
The Office of Civil Defense (OCD) and Davao Occidental Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC) also expect no damage or injury from the earthquake.
