After his bilateral meeting with President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., the Prime Minister said that the Czech Republic is aware of how the Philippines sends Filipinos to other countries for work.

“We also highly appreciate the Philippine system of the recruiting of workers for work in other countries,” he said.

“Czech companies are very satisfied with Philippine citizens. We are discussing the possibilities to expand migration for work,” the official added.

In 2019, it was reported that the number of Filipinos living and working in Czech Republic had been steadily increasing.

A Facebook post by the Philippine Embassy in Czech Republic also stated that there are more than 3,000 overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) there, most of whom are under the Qualified Worker Program of the Economic Migration Scheme of the Czech Government.

Fiala then thanked “all Filipinos for a warm welcome and to all our partners for great cooperation in every possible fields, every area.”

“I believe our meeting and visit will be a new impulse for stronger collaboration and we will be very happy to cooperate (with the) Philippine government and companies much more,” he added.
