7 hurt in bus bombing in Sultan Kudarat

ISULAN, Sultan Kudarat – Seven persons were injured after an improvised explosive device went off inside a passenger bus while stationed in a public transportation terminal here on Monday, April 17. Police Col. Christopher Bermudez, Sultan Kudarat police director, said the Husky passenger bus had just arrived from Cotabato City to unload passengers when the explosion occurred at around 12:30 p.m. Bermudez said an unexploded IED was recovered at the upper deck of the double-deck passenger bus which was enroute to General Santos City. Witnesses said an unidentified person boarded the bus in Shariff Aguak town, Maguindanao del Sur province and left the baggage as he disembarked from the bus at the roundball on the national highway here. Bermudez said a Special Investigation Task Group has been created to dig deeper into the incident and file charges against the perpetrators.
