BACOLOD CITY – A total of 680 personnel have been deployed to secure the Panaad sa Negros Festival here from April 17 to 23.

The Task Group Panaad Festival consists of personnel from the Negros Occidental police, Bacolod City police, Regional Mobile Force Battalion (RMFB)-Western Visayas, Philippine Coast Guard (PCG)-Western Visayas, Maritime Group, Aviation Security Group, 6th Special Action Battalion of the Special Action Force (SAF), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP)-Negros Occidental, PNP Explosive and Ordnance, Highway Patrol Group, and Bacolod Traffic Authority Office (BTAO). Police Capt. Judesses Catalogo, spokesperson of the Negros Occidental police, said that the number of personnel may be adjusted, depending on the need for more security for visitors and other guests, as well as VIPs. Police Col. Leo Pamittan, Negros Occidental police director, assured that the security plan for the week-long festivity is already in place. Provincial Tourism Officer Cheryl Decena, in her message, expressed confidence on the success of the event, citing the unwavering service and dedication of the deployed personnel. This year’s festival, with the theme “The Promise Renewed,” returns after a three-year hiatus due to the pandemic.
