RSG Slate Philippines, Omega Esports and Onic Philippines all posted big wins to punch their tickets to the next round, completing the six-team cast for the playoffs set to fire off on May 4 - 7 at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay. It was RSG Slate PH which first advanced to the playoffs following a 2-0 sweep of Nexplay EVOS in the opening match. Needing only one point in the series, the Raiders collected three points behind the impressive season debut of John “1rrad” Tuazon who took over the spot of John Paul “H2wo” Salonga as the team jungler in Week 8. 1rrad, who RSG Slate lifted from its MDL counterpart RSG Ignite, made a good account of himself after utilizing Tank Lancelot in the grueling 36-minute opener before taking over in the second game with his jungle Joy pick. The second match meanwhile saw Omega Esports demolish also-ran TNC with a 2-0 sweep to formally barge into the playoffs. The comeback kings bounced back from the 0-2 defeat at the hands of the M4 world champion ECHO with Kelra “Duane” Pillas leading the charge. On the other hand, Onic PH shrugged off a Marco “Super Marco” Requitano’s Savage on the Brody with Kenneth “Nets” Barro completing a gutsy backdoor play to lead his team past the top seed Bren Esports and to the MPL PH playoffs. Nets used an 18-minute Lord dance between the two squads as he went for the base push down the bottom lane with Claude pick, capping a 2-0 stunner of Bren Esports. Onic’s victory also eliminated NXPE from contention after also dropping its game earlier against RSG PH.
