BATAC CITY, Ilocos Norte – A graduate of the Mariano Marcos State University-College of Law here was among the Top 30 examinees in the 2022 Bar examinations.
Atty. Jether Corpuz garnered an 86.75 percent rating and ranked 12th which elated the school headed by President Shirley C. Agrupis.
The MMSU StratCom, in a press statement in their official FB page, stated that the university recorded a 75 percent institutional passing rate and was fifth among the top performing law schools in the country with 11 to 50 examinees.
Nine out of 12 examinees, six of whom were first-time takers, from the COL passed the exam administered nationwide by the Supreme Court last November.
Other successful MMSU examinees were Stephanie Mei Cabello, Fleurdeliz Credo-Taylan, Vwxyz Dascil, Febelyn Digap-Tebes, John Mark Leano, Rian Vincent Nebab, Jem Krisna Minette Oducayen, and Justine Precious Taggaoa-Biado.
Agrupis was delighted with the results and congratulated the new lawyers from the school. She also thanked the COL faculty led by Dean Brian Jay Corpuz for equipping and producing practice- and Bar-ready graduates.
“Indeed, this feat only proves that MMSU is sustaining its stature as one of the best law schools in the country,” she said.
MMSU had a 100 percent passing rate in the 2020-2021 Bar examinations and was first in top-performing law schools with 11 to 50 examinees. The university was cited as a top-performing law school in 2018 and 2019.
Meanwhile, the provincial government of Ilocos Sur headed by Gov. Jeremias C. Singson congratulated Kyle Terence Amilao Viloria from Cervantes, Ilocos Sur for being one of the Top 20 examinees in the Bar examination.
