BAGUIO CITY – This city logged fewer crimes during the Holy Week compared to last year.
Baguio City Police Office chief Police Col. Francisco Bulwayan Jr. said crime volume decreased by 27.77 percent or 10 incidents from April 3 to 9 compared to April 10 to 16, 2022.
The BCPO recorded two index crimes – robbery and physical injury and murder – from four last year or a 50 percent decrease.
This city had seven non-index crimes, down five or 41.67 percent from 12 in 2022.
Non-index crimes committed were alarm and scandal, arson of property for small value, discharge of firearm, grave coercion, malicious mischief, and violations of anti-child abuse and anti-gambling laws.
Seventeen traffic incidents were recorded, 12 reckless imprudence resulting in damage to property, four reckless imprudence resulting in physical injuries, and one reckless imprudence resulting in homicide.
Last year, there were 20 traffic incidents, 17 reckless imprudence resulting in damage to property and three reckless imprudence resulting in physical injuries.
