AITO M5 EV: a game-changer in the electric vehicle market
With HarmonyOS smart cockpit to usher in smart travel
The global demand for all-electric vehicles (EVs) has surged recently, with consumers and governments prioritizing eco-friendly transportation solutions to address pressing environmental and energy-related concerns. In response to this growing demand, Huawei and AITO brand have partnered to develop the AITO M5 EV, a vehicle that combines an impressive driving range, luxurious in-car experience, and advanced technology to challenge established EV market giants.
During the Huawei China Experience 2023 for Filipino content creators and journalists, Bason Wang, Marketing Director of Huawei Philippines Consumer Business Group, proudly showed me the AITO M5 EV. As I joined him inside the car, I immediately noticed the luxurious in-car experience with its streamlined design. It brings an unprecedented in-vehicle experience with its minimalist and elegant combination of leather and wood interior, 10.4-inch curved LCD dashboard, 15.6-inch semi-floating central control screen, and HarmonyOS that equipped it with valuable tech onboard features, plus the panoramic sky screen.
As it is one of the first vehicles to use the Huawei Harmony OS 3 infotainment system, Bason could interact with it using voice commands. He said that, like any smart vehicle, it could understand basic commands like calling someone, changing temperature, navigating to destinations, and more. It can also activate the massage feature via voice, making long drives for front passengers more pleasurable.
Bason also showed that the HarmonyOS Smart Cockpit has an integrated Smart Dock shortcut bar for displaying cards for popular services such as navigation, music, and the vehicle's condition, which can be accessed quickly with just one touch. The size and order of the cards are all adjustable, allowing the users to customize their desktops. In addition, fast and accurate AI Voice interactions and scenario-based Celia Suggestions enhance the driving experience even further.
The HarmonyOS Smart Cockpit upgrades the car from just a vehicle to a Super Device that connects people with smart devices, such as mobile phones, smart home devices, and smartwatches. Navigation, music, and MeeTime calls can be seamlessly transferred to facilitate an all-connected world centered on people, vehicles, and homes. For example, users can turn on air conditioning and lights at home while coming back from work so that their home already feels cozy when they step through the door.
One of the standout features of the AITO M5 is its impressive driving range, estimated at 1242 kilometers on a single charge which is almost as far as from Manila to Cagayan de Oro City via AH26 or commonly known as the Pan-Philippine Highway. This has been possible because of the new and improved all-in-one electrical system HUAWEI DriveONE for a longer battery life, smarter experience, and higher performance. The enhanced range will attract customers looking for an EV with a longer driving distance.
With the AITO M5, Huawei and AITO demonstrate their commitment to building a people-centered smart automobile ecosystem, delivering a smart travel experience that caters to consumers' needs in nearly all aspects of their lives, including shopping, travel, and work. The launch of the AITO M5 comes just six months after delivering the first AITO-branded vehicle, showcasing the rapid expansion of the EV market and the innovation taking place in battery technology, charging infrastructure, and vehicle design.
The AITO M5 is poised to become a significant competitor in the EV market, offering a combination of impressive driving range, luxurious in-car experience, and competitive pricing that could threaten major EV makers. As the EV market continues to grow and evolve, companies like Huawei and AITO brand are pushing the boundaries to deliver innovative solutions that cater to an eco-conscious world. With the AITO M5's debut, the future of smart, eco-friendly transportation has never looked brighter.
