TACLOBAN CITY – Police said three persons, including a 14-year-old teen, died and two others were wounded in a shooting incident on Friday, April 14, in Calbayog City, Samar.
Initial investigation disclosed that Vicente Luzong Jr., 45; Vicente Luzong Sr., 73; Venjo Vere, 30; and the 14-year-old minor boarded a motorcycle-for-hire known as “timbol” in Barangay Geragaan for Barangay Hamorawon.
The driver stopped upon reaching Purok 2, Barangay Victory after Luzong Sr. requested to urinate.
A single motorcycle or “habal-habal” driven by Angelo Lustico, 43; with passengers Lane Dealagdon, 31; and Emy Casaljay, was passing by from Calbayog City proper towards Barangay Osmeña.
Seven unidentified heavily armed men clad in black long sleeves and black shirts suddenly appeared and fired at the victims, killing Lusong Jr., the minor, and Lustico on the spot.
Dealagdon and Casaljay were wounded and taken to the hospital.
Suspects fled on foot toward the mountainous area in Barangay Victory.
Police are conducting a hot pursuit operation against the suspects.
