Mark Sheehan, guitarist for the popular Irish rock band The Script, passed away following a brief illness. He was 46. Based on the band's social media pages, Sheehan died in a hospital. The band's full announcement: "Much loved husband, father, brother, bandmate, and friend Mark Sheehan passed away today in hospital after a brief illness. The family and group ask fans to respect their privacy at this tragic time," the announcement read. Sheehan is one of the co-founder of the Irish band in Dublin in 2001. Some of their hits include "The Man Who Can't Be Moved," "Hall of Fame," "Breakeven," "For The First Time," etc. Last Sept. 23, 2022, The Script returned for the fourth time in the Philippines for another concert. The band also performed here in 2011, 2013, and 2018. Tributes poured to the band's guitarist. Some comments: "So sorry to hear this news. Sending love and thoughts to all those connected to Mark," wrote British Got Talent contestant Calum Scott. Grammy nominee Hozier said: "So saddened to hear about this. Thinking of you all and of Mark’s family right now and sending love. Sincere condolences to you all." "Thinking of you all at this time. Mark was one of the nicest and most talented men you could meet x," UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador Laura Whitmore said. Musician Imelda May: "Awful news. Mark was such a gorgeous soul.
