Pedro Labra II said these are part of their objectives to help the government in its global warming and climate change mitigation programs. These were also in line with the Enhanced National Greening Program of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources in the region and a Philippine National Police core value. “For the past years, Caraga cops have conducted efforts to protect the environment and revive forests through its aggressive tree-planting activities,” Labra said. “This year, PRO-13 opted for mangrove planting that is essential for the protection of our environment and the people living in the coastal areas,” he added. “The PNP’s core value ‘Makakalikasan’ also aims to preserve nature, to curb pollution and deforestation in the country, and also to address the problem of climate change.” The DENR-Environmental Management Bureau, Kabataan Kontra Droga at Terorismo-Nasipit chapter, women’s groups, barangay officials, Agusan del Norte Police Provincial Office, Nasipit Municipal Police Station (MPS), Regional Mobile Force Battalion 13, Regional Pastoral Office 13, Regional Community Affairs and Development Division 13, and PRO 13-PIO also attended the twin activities.
