PH reports 4,621 new Covid-19 cases

The Department of Health (DOH) logged 4,621 fresh Covid-19 cases in the Philippines, taking the country's number of active infections to over 37,000.

A total of 37,805 patients are still battling with Covid-19 nationwide, as shown in the latest data of the DOH on Sunday, Aug. 7.

The regions with the most cases in recent 14 days were the National Capital Region with 15,580 followed by Calabarzon with 10,125, Central Luzon with 5,109, Western Visayas with 2,797, and Central Visayas with 2,141.

Hospital utilization rate remains at low risk as bed occupancy was at 29.3 percent, wherein 8,412 beds were occupied, while 20,332 are vacant, as shown in the DOH Covid-19 tracker.

Since the pandemic started two years ago, the Philippines has already recorded 3,803,955. Of this total, 3,705,343 were recoveries and 60,807 were deaths.
