CEBU CITY – The provincial government of Bohol vowed to strengthen ties with Russia following the visit of Ambassador Marat Ignatyevich Pavlov on Tuesday, April 11.
Gov. Aris Aumentado welcomed Pavlov during a courtesy call at the provincial capitol in Tagbilaran City.

"We are grateful that the good ambassador chose to visit Bohol and we are more than honored to welcome and host you amid the backdrop of our people's warm hospitality," Aumentado told Pavlov and his delegation.
Pavlov was accompanied by his wife Irina, First Secretary and Consul of the Russian Embassy Yaroslaw Pavlov, Honorary Consul of the Consulate of the Russian Federation Armi Garcia, and Executive Assistant Lisa Pangan.
The visit was meant to strengthen the diplomatic relations between Russia and the Philippines.
Possible sisterhood partnerships that would help boost tourism, economic cooperation, culture and arts, labor, agriculture, investments, and humanitarian relations were discussed.
Also discussed during the visit was the holding of Russian Victory Day on May 9 in which Bohol will host Russian visitors.
