DAGUPAN CITY – The 2023 Bangus (milkfish) Festival here kicked off with the Gilon-Gilon (fish harvest) street dancing competition on Friday, April 14.
Thirty-one barangays and several educational institutions from this city are competing in the event starting 3 p.m.
Gilon-Gilon, a dance step, depicts the harvesting of bangus in ponds and pens.
Mayor Belen Fernandez invited people everyone to watch various activities for the festival.
These are the Bangus Rodeo on April 19; the search for the Heaviest, Longest, and Prettiest Bangus, Fastest Bangus Classifier, Fastest Bangus Deboner, and Fastest Bangus Eater; Bangusine culinary showcase on April 26 that showcases the delicious taste of real seafood bangus; beach volleyball, among other sports activities, at Tondaligan Blue Beach from April 29 to May 1; and the Bangusan street party, dubbed the biggest street party in the country, on April 30 on JDV Highway Extension.
