Fire Officer 3 Rona Magdaluyo, chief of the investigation section of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP)-Murcia, said the fire allegedly broke out from the house owned by Nestor Diaz at around 7:10 a.m. The blaze easily spread as most of the houses were made of light materials, she added. Magdaluyo said the residential fire happened across the fire station. She said there was a slight delay during the firefighting operation as the water supply from the two fire trucks was consumed within five to seven minutes. She added firefighters were able to clear the area after an hour, with the help of other fire volunteer brigades and augmentation from a fire station here. Arson investigators have yet to determine the cause of fire. The blaze left an estimated P100,000 worth of damage. No injuries were reported.
