"We are doing the right thing and the people know it."
House Majority Leader and Zamboanga City 2nd district Rep. Mannix Dalipe had this to say Thursday, April 13 in reaction to the high survey scores attained by the House of Representatives and Speaker Martin Romualdez from two major pollsters.
“This only means that we are doing the right thing and the people know it. This is a clear sign that people are finally appreciating the long hours of work that we all do in the House of Representatives just to make sure that we will pass laws that will benefit all Filipinos,” Dalipe said in a statement.
He said that the +56 percent net performance rating of the House of Representatives as per the Social Weather Stations' (SWS) Fourth Quarter 2022 survey and the +51 percent approval rating of Speaker Romualdez from a March Pulse Asia survey should inspire their fellow House members to even work harder to institute reforms that can uplift the lives of Filipinos.
Dalipe is considered the right-hand man of Romualdez, given his designation as the majority leader in the 314-strong chamber.
He is also concurrently the chairman of the powerful House Committee on Rules.
The results of these two major surveys were released just days apart from each other.
“This high trust rating should give members of the House of Representatives the momentum and right motivation to work even harder so that we can enact laws that can truly have a positive impact on our people, especially the poor. This should remind us that we are working to serve the greater good,” Dalipe said.
“We have to give credit to Speaker Romualdez whose first-in-last-out brand of leadership has been a constant inspiration for all of us to go the extra mile to be able to finish our task despite seemingly insurmountable odds,” he added.
