QCPD anti-criminality ops net 36 wanted persons, law violators
The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) arrested 16 wanted persons and 20 other law violators in a series of manhunt and anti-criminality operations in Quezon City on Wednesday, April 12.
The operations were launched by the QCPD Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit and police stations in Masambong, Batasan, Anonas, Kamuning, Galas, Eastwood, Bagong Silangan, Project 6, Cubao, Fairview, and La Loma.Â
Police said the 36 arrested persons are facing charges for estafa (swindling), illegal drugs, illegal gambling, carnapping, violation of Batas Pambansa 22 or the Anti-Bouncing Check Law, theft, falsification of public documents, and acts of lascivousness, among others.
The operatives also seized a total of P110,600 worth of shabu, and illegal drug paraphernalia.
The courts of origin of the warrants of arrests will be notified about the apprehension of the wanted persons, while appropriate charges will be filed against the other law violators, police said.Â
QCPD director Brig. Gen. Nicolas Torre III lauded his men for their dedication and accomplishments in their campaign against all forms of crime in the city.Â
