Firefighter volunteer, 2 others yield P3.45-M worth of shabu in Laguna drug bust

LAGUNA – A volunteer firefighter and two others were arrested for selling 500 grams of shabu worth P3,450,000 during a buy-bust operation on Wednesday, April 12, at Santa Rosa-Tagaytay Road, Barangay Don Jose, Santa Rosa City in this province. Authorities identified the suspects as Rommel dela Cruz, alias “Mokong,” 52, a firefighter volunteer; Romeo Acido,49, a taxi driver; and Guillermo dela Cruz, 52, a mechanic. The three alleged drug pushers were apprehended at the parking lot of a fastfood chain around 8:25 p.m. Operatives of the Santa Rosa City Police Station, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Laguna Provincial Office, and PDEA Regional Office 4-A Special Enforcement Team conducted the operation against the suspects.
