5 men nabbed for stealing telecom cable in Biñan, Laguna

LAGUNA – Authorities arrested five persons for allegedly stealing a telecommunication cable along National Road in Barangay San Antonio, Biñan City, on Wednesday, April 12. Laguna Police Provincial Office (PPO) identified the suspects as alias John Mark, alias Carlo, alias Johnrey, alias Rafael, and alias Mac-mac. In a statement, Biñan City Police Station (CPS) Chief Col. Virgilio M. Jopia says PLDT’s on-duty security guard conducted a roving inspection of the company’s aerial copper cables when the group was caught cutting more or less 50 meters of cable. Confiscated from the suspects were the piece of cut copper cable, a metal saw, and cutting pliers. The suspects are now under the custody of Biñan CPS and are facing robbery charges.
