Marcos, Duterte maintain high approval, trust ratings in March 2023 Pulse Asia survey
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and Vice President Sara Duterte received majority approval and trust ratings in the March 2023 Ulat ng Bayan survey results released on Wednesday, April 12.
The latest survey found that 78 percent of Filipinos approve and 5 percent disapprove of Marcos’ overall job performance as President, while 83 percent of Filipinos approve and 4 percent disapprove of Duterte’s overall job performance as Vice President.
Pulse Asia pointed out that public opinion regarding the performance of the President and the Vice President remained essentially constant between November 2022 (82 percent and 84 percent, respectively) and March 2023 (78 percent and 83 percent, respectively).
“Majority approval scores are enjoyed by the President and the Vice President in all geographic areas (68 percent to 93 percent and 72 percent to 98 percent, respectively) and socio-economic groupings (65 percent to 87 percent and 70 percent to 95 percent, respectively),” it said.
Marcos, Duterte post high trust ratings
Similar to their performance ratings, Pulse Asia said the President and the Vice President posted majority trust figures across areas (73 percent to 93 percent and 76 percent to 97 percent, respectively) and classes (69 percent to 88 percent and 76 percent to 95 percent, respectively). Overall, 80 percent of Filipinos have “big trust” and 5 percent have “small/no” trust on President Marcos, while 85 percent have big trust and 3 percent have small/no trust on Vice President Duterte. Trust ratings of President Marcos and Vice President Duterte also remained essentially constant between November 2022 (83 percent and 85 percent, respectively) and March 2023 (80 percent and 85 percent respectively). The survey fieldwork was conducted from March 15 to 19, 2023 using face-to-face interviews of 1,200 adult respondents nationwide. It has a ± 2.8 percent error margin at the 95 percent confidence level, while subnational estimates for the geographic areas covered in the survey have the following error margins at 95% confidence level: ± 5.7 percent for Metro Manila, the rest of Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
