CHR lauds heroism of country's frontliners

The Commission on Human Rights (CHR) has lauded the bravery and heroism of the country's frontliners as they do their best to battle the deadly coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic despite threats to their own health and safety.

Every time the frontliners step out of their houses, they are already exposed to the virus. Despite this fact, the frontliners still bravely make their way to their work because they are needed by the Filipino people.
"Sa kabila ng panganib na dulot ng COVID-19, sila ay matapang na nag-se-serbisyo at nag-sa-sakripisyo araw-araw (Despite the dangers of COVID-19, they are still serving the people and sacrificing their lives every day)," said CHR spokesperson Atty. Jacqueline Ann de Guia.
De Guia said that Filipinos should not disregard the sacrifices made by the frontliners by doing their part to flatten the curve, following social distancing and hygiene practices, donating to the less fortunate, volunteering their time and resources to different initiatives, and spreading only news that are true and concrete.
Even while staying at home, de Guia said that every Filipino can help the frontliners in their own simple way.
"Kapag pinagsama-sama ang mga kabutihan at sakripisyo ng bawat isa, mapagtatagumpayan natin ang kasalukuyang hamon sa kalusugan (When we combine all our good deeds and sacrifices, we can triumph over this threat against our health)," she said.
