1 dead, 5 hurt in Pasig City fire

A man died while five others were injured in a fire that hit a residential area in Esguerra St., Barangay Pinagbuhatan, Pasig City Tuesday, April 11. According to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), the blaze started at 12:00 p.m. and reached the 3rd alarm at 12:02 p.m. Fire out was declared at 1:12 p.m. The residents said that a man was declared missing in the fire but he was later found dead by the firefighters in the rubble. The BFP identified the victim as Allan Boriongan. Meanwhile, the five injured individuals were identified as Roland Gumanas who suffered a laceration wound on his forehead, Reymund Reyes, Kevin Gonzales, and Angelo Lupif who all suffered burn injuries, and FO1 Ian Zozobrado who suffered a cut in his finger. The BFP said that 65 houses were destroyed in the fire and estimated the cost of damage to around P225,000. A total of 70 families were affected by the incident. Arsons investigators are still investigating the cause of the fire.
