Cops net 22 drug suspects, seize P670,000 shabu in Pasig, QC buy-busts
More than P670,000 worth of alleged shabu was confiscated by polices forces in Pasig City and Quezon City from 22 drug suspects on Monday, April 10, and Tuesday, April 11.
The Eastern Police District (EPD) seized around 50 grams of shabu worth P343,400 from Dediosalyn Mingming alias “Lyn,” 36, a High Value Individual (HVI) from San Miguel, Pasig City.
Alias Lyn was arrested in a buy-bust operation conducted by the EPD operatives in Barangay San Miguel on Tuesday.
Police also collared five suspects - Leo Gatmaitan alias “Brent,” 49; Vhon Irene Mulano, 32; Reynalyn Cabrera, 34; Carl Ryan Jabson 25; and Camille Jhelian Valencia, 24, all residents of Pasig City, on Monday, after they yielded 14.84 grams of suspected shabu valued at P100,912.
The entrapment operation was launched by the EPD in the barangay at around 11:50 p.m.
Two other suspects, identified as Samuel Villandares, a construction worker, and Jonathan Fajardo y Canon, a delivery helper, were also arrested in another buy-bust operation carried out by cops in Barangay Manggahan, Pasig City at around 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
Seized from the suspects were more or less 15.63 grams of alleged shabu worth P106,284.
Meanwhile, the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) also launched a series of anti-illegal drug operations on Monday and Tuesday which resulted in the arrest of 14 drug suspects and the confiscation of P123,880 worth of shabu and several drug paraphernalia.
The operations were conducted by operatives of the QCPD District Drug Enforcement Unit (DDEU), La Loma, Masambong, Talipapa, Cubao, Project 4, Anonas, Eastwood, and Pasong Putik Police Stations.
All the suspects will charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002
QCPD Director Brig. Gen. Nicolas Torre III and EPD Directpr Wilson Asueta said that the city police forces will continue to enhance police operations against all forms of criminality in their cities.
