PRO-7 drive on Easter Sunday nets P44-M illegal drugs

CEBU CITY – Simultaneous police operations on Easter Sunday led to the confiscation of illegal drugs worth more than P40 million in Central Visayas. The regionwide police operations dubbed Simultaneous Anti-Criminality Law Enforcement Operations (SACLEO) also resulted in the arrest of 592 individuals, the Police Regional Office-Central Visayas (PRO-7) said. Police Brig. Gen. Abellada Aberin, chief of PRO-7, said 151 drug personalities were arrested in 134 anti-illegal drug operations and 6.5 kilos of suspected shabu worth P44.4 million were seized. Aberin said 282 persons were arrested and P27,000 cash bets were seized in 104 anti-illegal gambling operations. One-hundred fifty-two firearms were surrendered and one explosive were seized while 23 persons were arrested in the campaign against loose firearms. Fourteen most wanted persons were also apprehended.
