Marcos' Holy Week: 'Very good, very quiet'

Marcos said this as Filipinos end their five-day weekend holiday on Monday, April 10. In an interview with reporters in Bataan, the President [confirmed](https://mb.com.ph/2023/4/1/marcos-bares-holy-week-plans) his earlier announcement that he went on a retreat for the Holy Week. "Very good! Very quiet. I did, as I said, I did my usual routine where I went into retreat," he said. "For the weekend, starting on Friday, I fasted," he added. According to the President, Holy Week served as an opportunity for him to think about important matters. "It was a good time to take a breath(er), take a step back, take long walks, and think very hard about what it is that we have to do," he said. In his Easter Sunday message, Marcos urged Filipino Christians worldwide to [celebrate Easter as a time for renewal and recovery](https://mb.com.ph/2023/4/9/pbbm-easter-a-time-for-renewal-recovery). He likewise asked the public to welcome the better days that were coming. "Pause and give thanks for the opportunity for renewal and recovery as we push through our quest for genuine unity and progress for all," he added.
