The Philippine women’s national football team is looking to sweep the first round of the 2024 AFC Women's Olympic Qualifying Tournament when it takes on the similarly undefeated Hong Kong on Tuesday, April 11, at the Hisor Central Stadium.
The Filipinas and the 79th-ranked Hong Kong tussle at 7 p.m. (Manila time) with the top seed advancing to the second round of the qualifiers.

Both countries are tied in first place with six points in Group E, with the Philippines ahead through a superior goal differential of 12 compared to Hong Kong’s five. The Philippines went on back-to-back wins against Pakistan in their opening duel with a 4-nil on April 5, before thrashing Tajikistan with a commanding 8-0 victory on April 8. The returning Chandler McDaniel was instrumental in both affairs with three goals so far after coming back from a knee injury she sustained in the 2022 AFC Women’s Asian Cup in January last year. Six other players took care of business in the commanding win further proving the nationals' unrelenting might in their group bracket. Hong Kong, meanwhile, came out on top against the hosts and Pakistan alike to share the top seed with the Filipinas. In the previous Olympic qualifiers for Tokyo Games, the Philippines suffered a second-round loss to the 37th-ranked Chinese Taipei which resulted in its elimination.
