Cavite: 5 excursionists injured in vehicle crash due to brake malfunction
CAVITE – Five people were injured in a vehicle crash resulting from a brake malfunction on Ternate-Nasugbu Road in the Municipality of Ternate on Easter Sunday, April 9.
Cavite Police Provincial Office (PPO) said the passengers of the utility vehicle were on their way to Maragondon, Cavite, for a beach outing.
Upon reaching a downhill curved portion of the road, the vehicle's brake system allegedly malfunctioned, causing the driver to lose control. The vehicle hit a concrete barrier and rolled over to its side.
Five passengers sustained minor injuries and were taken to Cavite Municipal Hospital in Maragondon for medical treatment.
In a statement, Cavite PPO director Col. Christopher F. Olazo reminded motorists going out of town to check BLOWBAGETS before traveling, which stands for battery, lights, oil, water, brake, air, gas, engine, tire, and self.
