South Korea is in need of fruit and vegetable farmers, and the Philippines could be a potential source.

This was shared by Pampanga 4th district Rep. Anna York Bondoc in a recent video she uploaded on Facebook.

Bondoc, a vice chairperson of the House Committee on Poverty Alleviation, was part of a recent Philippine delegation of House members that held a bilateral meeting with the Korean National Assembly in South Korea.

"They really need farm workers po dito (here)," she said.

“Kulang po talaga yung farm workers nila (Their farm workers aren't enough). They are really looking for seasonal farm workers. And siyempre pinromote ko ang Pampanga as one of the sources of seasonal farm workers (of course I promoted Pampanga as one of the sources of seasonal farm workers)," the lady solon said.

"The farms are fruit farms; apples, tomatoes, cucumbers. What they told me are the farmers themselves are demanding for the farm workers," Bondoc enthusiastically shared to her Facebook followers.

"So wanted po talaga---hindi lang wanted (So they are really wanted--not just wanted), needed is the proper term," added Bondoc.

The Philippine delegation to South Korea was headed by House Senior Deputy Speaker and Pampanga 2nd district Rep. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo. Arroyo is a former president and House Speaker.
