CAVITE - Authorities arrested on Saturday, April 1, the suspect in the killing of 24-year-old student Queen Leanne Daguinsin in her dormitory in Dasmarinas City.
In a statement, Cavite Police Provincial Office (PPO) Director Christopher F. Olazo said the suspect, Angelito L. Erlano, 39, was arrested at the house of his friend in Barangay Victoria Reyes during a follow-up operation.
During the arrest, the suspect tried to attack the responding officer with a screwdriver. However, the operative was able to parry the attack.
The suspect was brought to Dasmariñas City Police Station. Authorities recovered from his possession a screwdriver.
The suspect was charged with robbery with homicide and direct assault upon an agent of person in authority, according to the police.
