Southern Police District to deploy 815 personnel for Holy Week
The Southern Police District (SPD) will deploy 815 police officers during Holy Week to ensure the safety and security of the public.
According to the SPD, the deployment will start on April 2 until April 9 in seven areas under its jurisdiction: Muntinlupa, Taguig, Pasay, Makati, Paranaque, Las Piñas and Pateros.
It said the six cities and one municipality under SPD have a total of 82 places of worship, which will be secured by 323 police officers.
Besides ensuring order in places of worship, the SPD will deploy 141 personnel to 19 major thoroughfares under its area of responsibility including the Nichols Interchange.
In addition, 110 police officers will be stationed at 28 transport hubs and terminals under SPD.
A total of 109 personnel will be assigned at 46 commercial areas under SPD and 46 police officers at places of convergence including malls.
The SPD will also establish nine one-stop-shop help desks that will be manned by 46 police officers who will give assistance to the public.
“The SPD will conduct a big preparation for the Holy Week and our personnel are ready to respond to any situation that needs immediate action,” said SPD director Brig. Gen. Kirby John Kraft.
