ILOILO CITY – Police in Capiz seized suspected shabu valued at P1.7 million from an online seller in a buy-bust operation in the provincial capital of Roxas on Thursday, March 30.
This haul came a day after suspected shabu was also seized from five individuals worth P816,000 in Pontevedra, Capiz.
The Police Regional Office (PRO)-6 identified the suspect as 38-year-old Richard Ferrer.
Ferrer was apprehended by the Special Drug Enforcement Team (SDET) of the Roxas City Police Station. Recovered from him was shabu weighing a total of 250 grams.
Ferrer was reportedly new in the illegal drugs trade and listed as a high-value individual in Capiz.
Suspect facing charges for violating Republic Act No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
The PRO-6 lauded the two successive big anti-drug operations in Capiz.
"Let us continue to strive harder to rid our communities against illegal drugs,” said PRO-6 chief Brig. Gen. Leo Francisco in a statement.
