Boy Scouts of Philippines building opens in Parañaque

Parañaque City Mayor Eric Olivarez led the inauguration of the new two-story building of the Boy Scout of the Philippines (BSP) located at Baclaran Elementary School (BES) in Barangay Baclaran on Friday, March 31.

The BSP building is a priority project of Olivarez, in partnership with his brother, Congressman Edwin Olivare, and the BSP Parañaque Council under Scout Executive Hyde Ofracio.

Olivarez said the scouting organization dreamed of having their own BSP building where they can conduct trainings, meeting and other BSP activities.

He said currently there are about 73,000 members in the city.

The local government provides a free membership fee to the BSP, which is included in the city's budget allocation.

The mayor was joined by Rep. Olivarez's chief of staff Atty. Fernando Soriano, Bernie Amurao, Regional Scout Director Loren Landingin and BES head Ma. Carina Bautista during the blessing of the building.
