Blu Girls to see action in Asia Cup

The Nationals, seeded fourth being ranked 30th in the world, will eye nothing less than victories as they battle Hong Kong in the morning on Day One then the host country in the afternoon with hopes of claiming one of the three available spots to the World Cup set in July in Europe.

The next day, the country tackles Thailand and World No. 3 Chinese Ta, April 6.

National team coach Randy Dizer said they would do their best to make the country proud.

“I’m optimistic the girls will give it all,” said Dizer, whose team is being supported by Cebuana Lhuillier.

The team is composed of Glory Alonzo, Mary Ann Antolihao, Danica Aquino, Khrisha, Genuary Cantor, Elsie Dela Torre, Maria Angelu Gabriel, Kaith Ezra Jalandoni, Mary Joy Maguad, Maria Celyn Ojare, Royevel Palma, Aliza Pichon, Cristy Joy Roa, Maria, Charlotte Sales, Alaiza Talisik and Arianne Vallestero.

“The girls are in high spirits and I am confident they will perform well in this competition,” said ASAPHIL president Jean Henri Lhuillier.

“They’ve been preparing non-stop in the past months and we in the (ASAPHIL) have ensured that they get the best possible preparations,” he added.
