CITY of San Fernando, Pampanga – One-hundred forty-three mass base supporters and members of the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army in Central Luzon have withdrawn support to the communist group.
They took their oath of allegiance to the government at the Police Regional Office 3 Makatao Activity Center here on Saturday, April 1.
Authorities conducted special intelligence operation that resulted in their withdrawal of support.
Operating units also conducted social investigation and dialogue with mass base members and disseminated to them the government’s program about ending local terrorism.
Highlights of the event were the distribution of sacks of rice from Gapan City, Nueva Ecija Mayor Joy Pascual, giving of testimonies of former members, and signing of the pledge of support to the government.
