CAMP DANGWA, Benguet – The Police Regional Office-Cordillera will deploy 1,120 policemen to secure the Holy Week in the region.
Brig. Gen. David Peredo Jr., Cordillera police director, said they will be deployed in major thoroughfares and transportation hubs.
They will also be strategically deployed to increase police presence and ensure order in malls, parks, markets, and areas where religious activities will be held.
Peredo has instructed police chiefs in the Cordillera to coordinate with their local government units in providing traffic management assistance, particularly Baguio and Benguet where an influx of people are expected for the solemn occasion.
\Peredo has met key PRO-Cordillera officers to lay out security plans and conduct coordination with other concerned agencies for the Holy Week.
The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), and volunteers will also be deployed to assist the police in securing the Holy Week in the Cordillera.
