PWD dies in QC fire

A person with disability (PWD) died in a fire that gutted a residential area in Barangay Batasan Hills, Quezon City Wednesday afternoon, March 8.

The Quezon City Fire District identified the victim as Cashiano Timbal, 58, a PWD, who was trapped inside his house during the fire on Sarip St., Brgy. Batasan Hills.

The Bureau of Fire Protection said the fire in the area occupied by informal settler families was raised to the first alarm at 1:18 p.m.

It was declared under control  at 1:33 p.m. and was extinguished  at 1:48 p.m.

Authorities have yet to determine the number of houses and families affected as well as the cause of the fire.
