OTS awards personnel for honesty, good conduct


Amid the dishonesty issues that have been hounding by its security screening personnel at the airports, the Office for Transportation Security (OTS) has recognized the good conduct of some of its employees in an apparent bid to send a message a message to the public not to generalize.

Among those given the Commendation Award during the flag raising were Security Screening Officer (SSO) Aldean Bassig of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 for turning over P200,000 cash and other valuable items left behind at the security screening checkpoint on Feb. 22;  Elvira Leones of NAIA Terminal 2 for turning over P59,500 cash left behind at the screening checkpoint on Feb. 26; and,  Antonette Ibad of NAIA Terminal 4 for turning over P1,500 cash left behind at the security screening checkpoint on March 1.

Also awarded was Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) Airport Police Inspector Rochelle Cabrera, along with Ms. Ronalyn Miras, William Mark Ferrer, and Raynald Joshua Cureg for the invaluable assistance leading to the identification and immediate arrest of a security screening officer involved in theft at NAIA Terminal 1 on March 01. 

PNP AVSEGROUP PCol Rhoderick Campo, along with Police Lt. Col. Alfredo Lim, Police Maj. Marcin Oloan, Police Maj. Mark Victor Agdon, Police Capt. Joy Viernes, Police Chief Master Sgt.  Alen Binuhe, Police Chief Masrter Sgt.  Rommel Baldos, Police Master Sgt. Joel Minimo, Police Corporal Desiree Beltran, Patrolman Al Justine Foronda, and Patrolman Nico Ian Guadamor for the assistance leading to the identification and immediate arrest of a security screening officer involved in theft at NAIA Terminal 1 on March 1.

Also given recognition were SSO Joben Gamis of Davao International Airport for turning over 212,000 yen and other valuable items on March 2; Mhay Raga, along with SSO Jeanalyn Alejandro of Caticlan Airport for turning over a gold bracelet left behind at the screening checkpoint on Feb. 18; SSO Isidro Manlavi Jr, along with SSO Diosdado Iso and Mark Anthony Manlavi of Busuanga Airport for returning a $300 and P1,500 cash on March 2. SSOs Iso and Manlavi, along with SSO Danica Mae Tenajeros and Jessa May Dungao also returned P2,180 cash left behind by another passenger at Busuanga Airport on March 2.
