President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. on Monday acknowledged the importance of micro, small, medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the country's economic growth as he said its role is "crucial" in the creation of "new ideas, jobs, and wealth."

During the signing of a program that aims to promote inclusive economic growth by providing MSMEs access to money, markets, and mentoring, Marcos said it is just right to recognize the power and influence that the sector holds.

He added that it is also right to recognize the role of big corporations in inviting MSMEs to spur the growth and realize their potential.

The President then said he was pleased to introduce the program—the Kapatid Angat Lahat for Agriculture Program (KALAP)—the objective of which is to integrate small farmers and agri-enterpreneurs into the value chain of large companies.

"This will enable farmers and MSME to become more productive, profitable, sustainable, and globally competitive," Marcos said.

Marcos also expressed his gratitude for Go Negosyo and its founder, Joey Concepcion, for their "dedication to fostering more productivity, profit and sustainability in our local markets."

"All the efforts you invest in our economy, particularly in the agricultural sector, are truly instrumental in bringing progress across our lands," he said.

Marcos said such kind of partnership between the government and the private sector "has been fostering for many years," and is "precisely the kind of partnership that we are hoping to bring together."

"I have always said that in the difficulties that we are facing ahea. There is no sector of society that can manage the recovery by itself," he said.

"And it cannot be done unless the different sectors of society are working together, and trying to implement a plan with a common understanding of what is needed to be done with a common understanding of what people need without forgetting every part of that of that sector, or that area of the economy," he added.
