LOOK: Romualdez visits wake of slain Negros Oriental Gov Degamo
House Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez visited the wake of slain Negros Oriental Governor Roel Degamo in Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental on Sunday morning, March 5.

Romualdez was accompanied by Deparrtment of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Benhur Abalos, who like him wore black.
Before proceeding to the wake, Romualdez and Abalos had a short briefing with Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Gen. Rodolfo Azurin, Jr. and Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Chief of Staff Gen. Andres Centino upon their arrival at the Dumaguete City airport.
Romualdez, Leyte’s 1st district representative and president of the Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (Lakas-CMD) party, earlier condemned Degamo’s killing and urged law enforcement authorities to act with dispatch to arrest the perpetrators and restore peace and order in communities.

At the wake itself, the Speaker and DILG chief expressed their sympathies to Pamplona Mayor Janice Degamo, wife of Governor Degamo.
The governor and five others were gunned down and killed by unidentified armed men on Saturday morning, March 4 in Pamplona.
