Authorities were able to recover several impressive--and dangerous-looking--long firearms from the suspects linked to the broad-daylight assassination of Negros Oriental Governor Roel Degamo.
House Speaker Martin Romualdez, who arrived in Negros Oriental Sunday morning, March 5, was able to inspect the high-powered guns together with Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Benhur Abalos and Senator Imee Marcos.
Romualdez, Leyte’s 1st district representative; and Abalos visited the wake of the slain Governor the same morning.
Degamo and five others were gunned down and killed by unidentified armed men on Saturday morning, March 4 in Pamplona, Negros Oriental.
