DepEd: No class suspension in Lucena City due to transport strike
LUCENA CITY, Quezon – The Department of Education said classes in this city are not suspended due to the transport strike starting on Monday, March 6.
City Schools Division Superintendent Hermogenes Panganiban, in a memorandum dated Friday, March 3, said that schools shall shift from face-to-face classes to distance learning modalities such as modular, online distance learning, or other appropriate distance learning modality.
However, he said those not affected shall have the usual face-to-face classes.
Panganiban also told schools to inform parents of these learning arrangements and ensure that learning resources are accessible to learners for the duration of the transport strike from March 6 to 10.
Schools were also told to inform stakeholders through the official school Facebook page DepEd Tayo, virtual meetings, and posting of announcements at school gates and or other conspicuous places that classes are not cancelled.
Panganiban ordered schools to ensure that learning materials are available to learners and a monitoring mechanism be established to ensure quality learning during the transport holiday.
