Bulacan Governor Daniel R. Fernando ordered the Philippine National Police (PNP) in Bulacan to protect Bulakenyo jeepney drivers and operators following the announcement of the Bulacan Federation of Jeepney Operators and Drivers Association (BFJODA) and other jeepney transport groups in the province that they will not join the week-long nationwide transport strike which will start on Monday, March 6. “Noong Biyernes ay nagkaroon po tayo ng pag-uusap kasama si Provincial Director PCol. Poposte po ang ating kapulisan sa ating kakalsadahan upang matiyak po ang kapayapaan sa buong lalawigan,” (I spoke with Provincial Director Col. Relly B. Arnedo last Friday and we agreed to prioritize the safety of the driver who will continue plying their routes for the Bulakenyo commuters. The policemen will be posted along roads to secure peace and order provincewide)," the governor said. In Memorandum GO-03052023-70, Fernando also gave the education sector in the province the option to conduct classes online for the duration of the transport strike. Meanwhile, the Provincial Government of Bulacan (PGB) will be providing free rides in the following routes: the City of Malolos to Calumpit-Apalit boundary, and City of Malolos to the City of Meycauayan-Valenzuela boundary. The governor also called on the mayors of the cities and municipalities of the province to help commuters in their areas. Fernando said the PGB will continue with its usual operation and will monitor the transport strike. He said it is up to private offices  to suspend work.
