TGP Party-list to reach out to 'brod' John Matthew Salilig's family

Talino at Galing ng Pinoy (TGP) Party-list has vowed to reach out to the family of its "brod", John Matthew Salilig, for the purpose of "assuaging their deep hurt and anguish".

"We, in the TGP Party-List, condole with the family of Brod John Matthew Salilig whose death in the hands of fraternal brothers who are supposed to protect and embrace him has revolted our sense of morals and dignity," the party-list said Friday, March 3 in a Facebook post.

TGP Party-list is represented in the House of Representatives by its nominee, Deputy Majority Leader Jose "Bong" Teves Jr.

"We shall continue to reach out to the grieving family and convey our sympathies to somehow assuage the deep hurt and anguish they are feeling right now," the post further read.

"We call on our members, both here and abroad, to include in their prayer intentions this coming Sunday, March 5, the peaceful repose of the soul of Brod John Matthew, as we commit ourselves to help his family attain justice at the soonest possible time," it added.

Adamson University student Salilig allegedly died due to injuries sustained in fraternity hazing. His body was buried in a shallow grave in Imus, Cavite.
