Dela Rosa to PNP: Strike hard vs guns for hire, organized crime groups
Senator Ronald ‘’Bato’’ dela Rosa on Saturday, March 4, pressed the Philippine National Police (PNP) to strike hard on private armies, guns for hire, and organized crime groups that are becoming bolder and more daring day by day.

‘’They should instill fear into the hearts and minds of these criminals,’’ according to Dela Rosa, chairman of the Senate Public Order and Dangerous Drugs Committee.
Dela Rosa, a former PNP chief, gave this remark following the broad-daylight killing of Negros Oriental Governor Roel Degamo.
Meanwhile, in a statement, Senator Sherwin Gatchalian
condemned in the strongest possible terms the deaths of Degamo and five others in the Saturday morning ambush.
‘’Any form of violence and intimidation have no place in a civilized and democratic society like ours and their senseless killing is a crime against all who believe in upholding the rule of law,’’ he said.
He then called on authorities to bring the assailants before the court of law, and ensure that justice is served as soon as possible.
