Scattered rain showers may prevail in Eastern Visayas, Mindanao during Holy Week; hot, humid in the rest of PH

Eastern Visayas and Mindanao may experience scattered rain showers and thunderstorms during Holy Week due to the prevalence of the easterlies or warm air coming from the Pacific Ocean, said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Friday, March 31.

In its weekly weather outlook released on Friday, PAGASA said the Eastern Visayas and Mindanao will have mostly cloudy weather throughout the outlook period, from March 31 to April 7.

Meanwhile, the rest of the country will have sunny to partly cloudy weather associated with hot and humid weather conditions.

However, PAGASA said there is still a chance of isolated afternoon rain showers, mostly in the eastern part of the country.

PAGASA advised the public to remain vigilant as there could be flooding or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

Sudden heavy rains, lightning, thunder, gusts of wind, and sometimes hail, often accompany severe thunderstorms.

In addition, PAGASA has not monitored a tropical cyclone that could affect the country during the observance of the Holy Week.
