Reward for arrest of Cavite dorm killing suspect now at P1.1M

CAVITE – The cash reward for information that could lead to the arrest of the suspect in the killing of graduating student Queen Leanne Daguinsin in Dasmariñas City has gone up to P1,100,000. In a Facebook post on Thursday, March 30, Cavite 4th District Rep. Pidi Barzaga announced that the City Government of Dasmariñas will be offering a P300,000 reward for the arrest of the suspect at large. The congressman stated that he and his wife, Mayor Jenny Austria-Barzaga, will add P100,000 each to the cash reward, while Sen. Bong Revilla has also pledged P300,000. Earlier on March 30, Cavite Police Provincial Office (PPO) said Gov. Jonvic Remulla is offering P300,000 to anyone who can help identify the suspect. Cavite PPO has already appealed to the public to coordinate with the nearest police station if they have any information that could help authorities track the culprit. Daguinsin, a 24-year-old student at De La Salle University–Dasmariñas (DLSU-D), was found dead inside her dormitory room with 14 stab wounds on March 28.

Lasallian community appeals for justice

Dasmariñas City Police Station acting chief Lt. Col. Juan Oruga Jr., meanwhile, told the Manila Bulletin that they have set up police checkpoints and have coordinated with barangay officials to deploy additional patrollers to heighten security in the city.
