P11.9-M 'shabu' seized in Quiapo, Manila drug sting


Some P11.9 million worth of alleged shabu was seized from a man during a buy-bust operation conducted by operatives of the Manila Police District (MPD) in Quiapo, Manila on Thursday, March 30.

MPD Barbosa Police Station (PS-14) identified the suspect as Salahudin alias "Kulot" Ibra Baumal, 26, a resident of Barangay Rosario, Pasig City.

Based on the police report, the suspect was collared inside a room in Balay Sa Ciudad, Quezon Boulevard, Brgy. 391, Quiapo Manila at 2:50 a.m. on Thursday.

Seized from him were 10 plastic sachets and a large plastic bag containing more or less 1,750 grams of alleged shabu.

A black digital weighing scale, a bundle of plastic sachets, a black backpack, and the buy-bust money were also recovered.

The pieces of evidence were submitted to MPD-Forensic Unit for qualitative and quantitative examinations.

Police said the arrested suspect is temporarily detained at the PS-14 custodial facility.

The suspect will be charged with violations of Sections 5 and 11 under Article II of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
